Montana's new showroom
12 rooms – endless possibilities
During the Danish design event 3 Days of Design Montana is opening a new, highly colourful showroom at 76, Bredgade. Come and explore 12 inspirational rooms with imaginative furnishing and decor, spanning a vibrant colour scheme and focusing on both the home environment and the professional office. Historically, 76, Bredgade has hosted some imaginative, colourful personalities, including Hans Christian Andersen, the famous Danish author, best known for his fairy tales. A world of colours, personality, imagination and endless possibilities...
The colour scheme evokes 1950s ice cream parlours: frothy milkshakes, candyfloss, jellybeans and minty-green meringue. The colourful rooms in the home section feature: a master bathroom showcasing the Montana Bathroom line with a Montana Wardrobe walk-in closet in fresh mint greens and light greys; a huge living room and library in pink, turquoise and light yellows with a bar, shelving and TV corner; and a feminine bedroom in light pink and purple hues with a wardrobe and makeup table.
Painted stripes follow the panelling, adding a touch of fun and playfulness to the otherwise classicist architectural details of stucco and cornices. The furnishing showcases all the latest novelties of 2017/18: the new Collection III pieces, Hall Edition and the Panton Wire shelving system. The concept and styling are a result of collaboration between the stylist Gitte Kjær and the Montana design team.
The architect studio mtre has developed the concept, story and functionalities for the Montana Office section, in collaboration with the Montana design team and the stylist Gitte Kjær. The vision of mtre is to challenge space, creating solutions that enhance well-being and performance, and reflecting the company’s vision, culture and identity.
The spatial concept envelops around the idea that an international gallery administration has moved into the premises. mtre was inspired by showing how a company that spans both the creative side and the business side could organise the space in question. The office section counts meeting rooms, an open office landscape, a space called The Sanctuary, and a space called The Cave, as well as an office canteen. The colours are deftly balanced: the subdued, darker shades and variations in materials interact with contrasting splashes of bright, playful hues.
